Raye Hits Back at Ticket Touts Who 'Overwhelmed' Albert Hall Sign-Up
Raye has taken a stand against ticket touts who she claims "overwhelmed" the sign-up process for her upcoming show at the Royal Albert Hall. In a statement shared on her social media, the singer revealed that there were 1.8 million sign-ups for her 5,000-seat performance on October 23rd.
To prevent a pre-sale that scalpers could exploit, Raye explains that her team manually reviewed the sign-ups to identify "real fans." She expresses her disbelief at the scale of bot activity, stating, "I've never witnessed bots on this scale." As a result, she is changing the process to ensure that fans can purchase tickets at face value.
The "Symphony May Contain Hope" show will showcase songs from her chart-topping second album, This Music May Contain Hope, blending jazz, orchestral, blues, and soul influences. Raye's rapid rise to fame includes a Brit Award-winning debut album, My 21st Century Blues, and a viral hit, "Escapism."
Ticket Sales and Changes
Raye has selected a shortlist of fans to receive a pre-sale link and code via email at 11:45 BST on Tuesday. The remaining tickets will be available on general sale.
This experience has prompted Raye and her team to reevaluate future ticketing strategies, emphasizing the importance of ensuring fair access for fans.
