Riverfront Hotel to be Constructed at Kamran's Baradari
Lahore's Historic Monument to Undergo Restoration and Beautification
LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th Sep, 2026) The iconic Kamran Ki Baradari in Lahore is set for a revival, following new directives from the provincial housing department. This centuries-old Mughal structure, nestled along the River Ravi, will be transformed into a cultural hub with enhanced facilities for visitors.
Restoration Plan Unveiled
Ahmed Usman Javed, Managing Director of the Horticulture Agency/ Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA), visited the site and reviewed the restoration and construction plan for a riverfront hotel with PHA's Director Engineering Samavia and Director Horticulture, Amir Farooq.
The proposed plan includes:
- Restaurant and Picnic Spots: The surrounding area will feature dining options and designated picnic areas to enhance the visitor experience.
- Landscaped Gardens: Beautifully landscaped gardens will be designed to create a peaceful ambiance.
- Dedicated Access Road: A new road will make the Baradari more easily accessible.
- Boat Rides: Tourists will soon be able to enjoy boat rides to the monument.
- Heritage Museum: A museum will showcase the rich history and cultural significance of the Mughal-era Baradari.
Expanding the Project
In addition to the hotel construction, the Punjab government has approved an expansion of the restoration project, increasing the area from five acres to 15 acres.
Conservation Efforts
Javed emphasized that the long-neglected Baradari will soon regain its historical grandeur, while also highlighting the accelerated conservation efforts for heritage sites across Lahore.
