Robber Arrested After Encounter With Police

MULTAN, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 10th Sep, 2026) A suspected robber, wanted in multiple cases of robbery and theft, was injured and arrested during a police encounter in the jurisdiction of Bahauddin Zakariya Police Station late Thursday night.
According to police sources, a patrol party was conducting snap checking near Gulshan Bashir Colony when two men riding a motorcycle appeared. On seeing the police, the suspects turned the motorcycle around and opened fire on the police party. The policemen took cover while repeatedly calling upon the suspects to stop firing and surrender.
When the suspects did not comply, the police fired a few shots in self-defence. After the firing stopped, the police moved forward and found one of the suspects lying injured near the road. He was bleeding from his right leg and, according to police, had sustained injury from firing by his own accomplice.
The injured suspect, identified as Imran, son of Ghulam Bashir a resident of Gulshan Bashir Colony, was arrested. A 30-bore pistol was also recovered from him.
Police stated that verification of the suspect’s record revealed he was a habitual offender and had been previously booked in multiple cases of theft and robbery.
A search operation and blockade were launched to apprehend the fleeing accomplice, while senior police officers were informed about the encounter. The injured suspect was shifted to Nishtar Hospital, Multan, through Rescue 1122 for medical treatment, police sources added.
