Arturo Ruiz named Brighton boss after shock Dario Vidosic exit
BBC Sport reports that Arturo Ruiz has been appointed as the new women's head coach of Brighton following the unexpected departure of Dario Vidosic.
Ruiz, aged 29, has signed a contract until 2029. He previously held managerial positions at Atletico Madrid, Granada CF, and most recently Real Sociedad.
Vidosic stepped down just a week before the start of the season, with reports suggesting he is headed to the National Women's Soccer League in the United States, potentially joining Angel City.
Zoe Johnson, Brighton's women's and girls' managing director, expressed her enthusiasm for Ruiz:
"We are delighted to welcome Arturo to the club. He has a proven track record of developing teams and individuals."
Despite Vidosic's sudden departure, Brighton remain hopeful of challenging the WSL's top teams this season, with their opening match against Arsenal on September 6th (12:00 BST).
