Rupert Grint to Return to Harry Potter in Broadway Play "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child"

Rupert Grint is set to return to his iconic role as Ron Weasley in the Broadway play "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child". Previously cast at the age of 11, Grint will now step into the shoes of the adult Ron, joining the production from February next year.
The play follows Harry, Ron, and Hermione as they navigate parenthood 19 years after the original books and films concluded. Grint shared his excitement on Instagram: "Dusting off the old robes. New York – see you all in February."
Last November, Grint expressed doubt about ever "stepping out" of Ron’s shadow, but added he was "fine with that". He now embraces the opportunity to reconnect with the character, stating: "There is something so full-circle and so special about stepping back into Ron’s shoes now when we are both fathers."
Grint will join the Broadway cast from 2 February until 30 May, while Tom Felton, who plays Draco Malfoy, appears until 3 January. This marks Grint’s return to the stage after performing in "It’s Only a Play" on Broadway in 2014.
Producers Sonia Friedman and Colin Callender praised Grint’s performances in the Harry Potter films, describing them as "what it meant to be a loyal and brave friend". They added that Grint’s return is not merely revisiting a past role but continuing a journey that has evolved with his life experiences.
