Security Arrangements Finalized For 71 Eid Milad-un-Nabi Processions
LAHORE, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 22nd Aug, 2026) The district administration on Saturday finalized security and civic arrangements for Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) with 71 processions scheduled to be taken out in the city on 11th and 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal.
According to the administration, 19 processions will be held on 11th Rabi-ul-Awwal and 52 on 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal. All relevant departments have been assigned responsibilities to ensure security and provision of civic facilities during the religious observances.
The municipal corporation will make lighting and decoration arrangements, while major roads and important buildings will be illuminated with electric lights. Patchwork on procession routes and restoration of streetlights are also underway.
Police, traffic police, Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) and other relevant departments have been directed to ensure effective performance of their duties. A special control room will remain operational during Eid Milad-un-Nabi, while Rescue 1122 teams, including ambulances and motorbike ambulances will remain on standby to respond to any emergency.
The administration said 3,000 Civil Defence volunteers would also perform security duties, while police arrangements had been finalized at all police stations. Under the security plan, 5,000 police personnel will be deployed on 11th Rabi-ul-Awwal and more than 7,000 on 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal.
The district administration has directed all relevant departments to remain vigilant and ensure coordinated arrangements for the peaceful conduct of the processions.
