Security Plan Issued For NA-168 By-election - UrduPoint
BAHAWALPUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Sep, 2026) District Police Office Bahawalpur has issued a plan to all Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs), Station House Officers (SHOs), and other officials concerned regarding foolproof security arrangements for the upcoming by-election in National Assembly Constituency NA-168 to be held on Sept 27.
According to an official press release, all SDPOs and SHOs have been directed to ensure:
- Security arrangements at polling stations
- Protection of polling staff
- Safeguarding election material
at all costs.
The statement emphasized that "maintaining law and order throughout the election process is the police's foremost responsibility."
Under the security plan, a warning was also issued that:
- Display of weapons
- Aerial firing
- Hooliganism
- Provocation
- Violent clashes
- Any act disturbing public order
during polling will not be tolerated. "Legal action will be taken without discrimination against anyone found violating the law," the warning stated.
