Senate Passes Three Bills
ISLAMABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 18th Aug, 2026) The Senate on Tuesday passed three bills seeking amendments to laws related to standard time, civil service matters, and the country’s folk and traditional heritage.
Standard Time (Interpretation of References) (Amendment) Bill, 2026
The House approved this bill, further amending the Standard Time (Interpretation of References) Ordinance, 1943, moved by Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry.
Civil Servants (Amendment) Bill, 2026
Dr Chaudhry also moved this bill on behalf of Minister for Economic Affairs and Establishment Senator Ahad Khan Cheema, seeking further amendments to the Civil Servants Act, 1973. The Senate approved the legislation.
National Institute of Folk and Traditional Heritage (Lok Virsa) (Amendment) Bill, 2026
Subsequently, the minister moved this bill on behalf of Minister for National Heritage and Culture Aurangzeb Khan Khichi. The Senate passed the bill to amend the National Institute of Folk and Traditional Heritage (Lok Virsa) Ordinance, 2002.
