Senior Journalists Delegation Visits SRSO, Lauds Women Empowerment

SUKKUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Aug, 2026) A delegation of senior journalists from Karachi Press Club and across Pakistan, led by senior journalist Mazhar Abbas on Monday visited the Sindh Rural Support Organization (SRSO) to observe its interventions for women's economic empowerment.
The delegation held interactive dialogues with organized rural women, including women community leaders, entrepreneurs, and artisans. They were briefed on SRSO’s initiatives focusing on women's economic empowerment through Interest-Free Loans, grants, and business Development Groups (BDGs).
On the first day of the visit, the delegation reached Larkana. The members visited an SRSO-supported BDG at Mohenjo Daro, where they interacted with women entrepreneurs engaged in traditional food businesses and appreciated their efforts towards sustainable livelihoods and family support.
The guests were welcomed by RGM Larkana Asad Ali Jatoi, District Manager and Media Consultant of SRSO. As a token of cultural appreciation, the journalists were presented with traditional Lungi/Khees handcrafted by an SRSO-supported BDG.
The visiting delegation highly appreciated the efforts of SRSO in empowering rural women and strengthening community livelihoods.
