Sep 6 Holds a Special Place in Country’s National History: Governor
KARACHI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th Sep, 2026) Sindh Governor Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi has paid tribute to the martyrs and veterans of the 1965 war on the occasion of Defence Day of Pakistan, stating that September 6 occupies a special position in the nation's history.
In his message for Defence Day, the Governor highlighted that September 6 was the day when the entire nation united to frustrate the enemy’s sinister designs and safeguard the motherland. He noted how this day serves as a reminder of the immense sacrifices made by the martyrs and veterans of the 1965 war.
According to Hashmi, the brave soldiers of the Pakistani Army demonstrated unparalleled valor in defending the country.
"The entire nation expresses its profound respect for the martyrs and veterans," he emphasized.
Hashmi further emphasized that during the 1965 war, the Pakistani nation established an exemplary precedent of unity, solidarity, and national spirit. He praised the Pakistan Army, Navy, and Air Force for their consistent and commendable role in defending the country.
The Governor stressed that Defence Day conveys a powerful message of love for the homeland, sacrifice, courage, and national unity. He expressed the collective resolve that the nation stands with its valiant armed forces for the sake of Pakistan’s strong defence, development, and prosperity.
