SEPA Urges Industrialists To Follow Environmental Protection Laws

The Sindh Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA) has requested industrialists of Hyderabad's SITE area to take effective measures to reduce waste generation and contain pollution caused by various industrial activities.
Addressing an awareness session at Hyderabad Gymkhana on Saturday, SEPA's Regional Director Ali Nawaz Bhambhro pointed out activities massively affecting the city's environment. He emphasized that while industrial growth brings responsibility for environmental protection, industries should adopt eco-friendly practices and ensure compliance with environmental laws.
Bhambro suggested installing in-house effluent treatment systems to prevent hazardous wastewater discharge into drains and taking measures to control air pollution.
Zubair Ahmed Ghangra, Chairman of Hyderabad SITE Association of Trade and Industry, acknowledged the need to sensitize industrialists about their environmental responsibilities. He emphasized that both industrial development and environmental protection could be achieved by adhering to regulations through cooperation, responsible practices, and effective measures. Dozens of association office bearers and members participated in the session.
