Separate Incinerator and Garbage Area for Improved Hospital Waste Management at ATH
ABBOTTABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - September 05, 2026) – Construction is rapidly progressing on a new site designated for an incinerator and garbage management system at the Ayub Teaching Hospital (ATH), aimed at enhancing cleanliness, environmental safety, and waste disposal arrangements.
Under this initiative, the incinerator will be housed in a separate location, while dedicated collection points will be established in the garbage area to ensure efficient management of hospital waste. Previously, incinerator and garbage-related activities took place near the hospital building.
The board of Governors and the hospital administration made this decision to relocate these facilities to a new site at a suitable distance from the main hospital structure, providing a cleaner and safer environment for patients, visitors, and staff. This move is expected to strengthen the hospital’s waste management system and elevate overall hygiene and environmental standards.
