Serrano’s Historic 50th Win
Amanda Serrano retained her WBA and WBO featherweight belts with a majority decision over Argentina’s Lucrecia Manzur, marking her 50th career win. Although she missed the 33rd knockout needed to break the women’s record, the fight drew a massive 3.4 million total views on TikTok.
Serrano’s Dominance:
The Puerto Rican fighter edged the decision but faced stiff competition from Manzur early on. Serrano seized control from round nine onwards.
"I am so happy and honoured," Serrano said post-fight. "[Manzur] was hungry, and I knew that coming into training… I had to come on my A game."
Record-Breaking Potential
With her third fight against Katie Taylor expected in 2024, Serrano aims to eclipse Christy Martin’s record of 32 knockouts before retiring later this year or in early 2027.
Undercard Victory
In the co-main event, Denmark’s Melissa Mortensen claimed the vacant WBA super-bantamweight title with a points win over Mayelli Flores from Mexico.
