Several people have been injured, some seriously, after a sword attack at a high school in Sweden, local authorities say.
Police have arrested a man in connection with the incident at Brinell School in Fagersta, central Sweden, which occurred just after 2 p.m. local time (1 p.m. BST) on Friday.
According to reports in Swedish media, the suspect was shot in the leg by police.
Fagersta council has not specified the number of wounded, but eight other schools in the area have been placed under lockdown measures.
Police have assured the public that there is no ongoing threat.
Sweden’s Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson described the attack as a "serious incident," adding, "we do not know what lies behind the act, but we know that police are working very intensively."
