Malaysia’s state energy company, Petronas, has warned of a potential severe LNG crisis during winter. According to its Chief Executive Officer, Muhammad Taufiq, the situation could deteriorate if Europe's gas reserves are further depleted before winter.
Taufiq attributed this concern to the increased dependence on imported gas and oil by Asian countries, exacerbated by the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. He urged immediate acceleration of efforts to explore new oil and gas reserves to address the current crisis and future supply-demand gaps.
