Sikandar Condemns DI Khan Blast, Calls For Effective Counterterrorism Strategy

Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) provincial chairman Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao has strongly condemned the blast in Dera Ismail Khan and expressed solidarity with the families of those killed and injured in the incident.
In a statement issued here on Sunday, he said the people needed security rather than political protests and called for an effective and comprehensive strategy to curb terrorism.
Sherpao stated that terrorist incidents had increased by 65 percent this year compared with the previous year, describing the rise as a serious concern. He emphasized that maintaining peace and security in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa should be the provincial government's primary responsibility.
He accused the provincial government of focusing on releasing one individual and protest politics instead of tackling terrorism and improving the security situation.
