Sindh Governor Meets TDAP Secretary, Discusses Promotion of Trade and Exports

KARACHI, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 18th Aug, 2026) Governor of Sindh Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi stated that increasing exports is crucial for bolstering the national economy and ensuring sustained economic growth. He underscored the need for effective strategies and coordinated efforts to introduce Pakistani products to international markets and expand access to new trading destinations.

These views were expressed during a meeting with Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) Secretary Shehryar Taj at the Governor House. The discussion focused on promoting Pakistan’s trade and exports, gaining access to new international markets, and highlighting Sindh’s industrial and commercial potential globally.

The Governor noted that Sindh possesses significant potential in industries, agriculture, and commerce, which can be effectively leveraged to increase exports, attract investment, and generate fresh employment opportunities. He emphasized the importance of stronger collaboration among relevant institutions to showcase Sindh’s products and industrial capabilities internationally.

Several proposals for enhancing exports from Sindh, exploring new international markets, fortifying trade ties, and creating opportunities for the business community were also considered during the meeting.

TDAP Secretary Shehryar Taj briefed the Governor on the authority’s initiatives, priorities, and future plans for promoting trade and exports.

Nehal Hashmi asserted that all relevant institutions must collaborate to implement effective and outcome-oriented measures aimed at strengthening Pakistan’s export potential.

Principal Secretary to the Governor Syed Saif-ur-Rehman, Director General TDAP, and other senior officials attended the meeting.
