Sindh Health Dept Reports Detection Of 117,016 Malaria Cases In Current Year
KARACHI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Sep, 2026) The Sindh Health Department has reported a total of 117,016 malaria cases across the province during the first nine months of 2026.
According to the statement issued by Deputy Director General for Vector-Borne Diseases (VBDs), Sindh, 1,915,058 individuals underwent malaria screening, with zero fatalities reported during this period.
Here's a breakdown by division:
- Karachi: 55,654 screened, 1,087 cases detected
- Hyderabad: 626,282 screened, 46,183 cases
- Sukkur: 12,058 cases after screening of 191,328 individuals
- Larkana: 33,785 cases recorded after screening of 583,691 individuals
- Mirpur Khas: 10,898 cases from screening of 187,980 individuals
- Shaheed Benazirabad: 13,005 cases reported after screening of 270,123 individuals
The health department emphasized that malaria prevention and surveillance activities are being actively carried out across the province.
