Smuggling bid foiled in Khanewal
KHANEWAL, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – August 23, 2026) Customs and Railways Police thwarted a smuggling attempt aboard the Khyber Mail here on Sunday, seizing a consignment of contraband items as the train stopped at Khanewal station.
According to officials, the seized goods included foreign-origin salt and other illicit items being transported illegally by train. They emphasized that protecting public life and property is their top priority, stating that no exceptions would be made for individuals attempting to use trains for smuggling.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
