Social Welfare Minister Reviews Dhee Rani, Himmat Card Programmes
Provincial Minister for Social Welfare and Baitul Maal Punjab Sohail Shaukat Butt chaired a meeting on Tuesday to review the progress of the Dhee Rani, Himmat Card, and Assistive Devices and Wheelchair programmes. Attended by Director General Social Welfare and Baitul Maal Punjab Dr Shehenshah Faisal Azim and other officials, the meeting discussed:

Dhee Rani Programme: Verification of applications, selection of deserving beneficiaries, and arrangements for 5,000 collective marriages this year. The minister emphasized transparent and merit-based verification and directed timely ATM card preparation through the Bank of Punjab for cash gift payments. He also ordered future events to be organized transparently via the Maryam ko Batayen mobile app.

Himmat Card Programme: Addressing issues faced by persons with disabilities in obtaining cards and accessing facilities, ensuring maximum relief to eligible beneficiaries.

Assistive Devices and Wheelchair Programmes: Completing arrangements for upcoming Dhee Rani events and providing all necessary facilities.
Butt highlighted the Punjab government’s commitment to making public welfare programmes transparent, merit-based, and effective, with timely service delivery to deserving individuals as a top priority.
