"We are being treated as second-class citizens," said Chief Minister Sohail Afridi in a social media post, referring to the draft he sent for negotiations between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and the government. He emphasized that these demands are legitimate and constitutional.

Here is the draft he presented:

Draft for Talks Between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and the Government:

In a statement on X, Afridi outlined his draft, stating:

"This is the draft I sent to the negotiating committee, which I am presenting before my nation. These were, are, and will remain our demands. The entire nation should know that not a single one of these demands is unconstitutional or illegal."

The draft proposes achieving political stability, upholding constitutional supremacy and law, ensuring continuity in the democratic process, promoting national unity, maintaining law and order, and resolving political and national issues through dialogue and consensus on the following points:

  1. Formal Meeting: Arrange a meeting between the Prime Minister of Pakistan and opposition leaders in both houses of Parliament to discuss major political, national, constitutional, legal, and democratic concerns. Aim for progress within two months.

  2. Joint Political Negotiating Committee: Establish a committee comprising representatives from the ruling alliance, Pakistan Peoples Party, and opposition parties. This committee will facilitate continuous talks on national issues, mutual differences, and other matters, striving for consensus solutions within one month of formation.

  3. Legal and Human Rights: Provide Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi with all legal, human, and medical rights as per the prison manual, Constitution of Pakistan, and applicable laws. Ensure necessary medical facilities based on their personal or nominated doctors' advice.

  4. Family Visits and Legal Associates: Allow Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi to meet family members, nominated lawyers, and authorized associates according to the prison manual and relevant laws.
