SPA Finalises Sanitation Plan For Eid Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) Processions
SPA, Rawalpindi, has finalised a comprehensive sanitation plan to ensure cleanliness along the routes of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) processions and at religious gathering points, on the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
According to the plan, special sanitation teams have been deployed along main procession routes and at gathering points. Sanitation workers' leaves have been cancelled to ensure uninterrupted cleanliness operations before, during, and after the processions.
Managing Director SPA and CEO Rawalpindi Waste Management Company, Rana Sajid Safdar, stated that providing a clean and pleasant environment for citizens on Eid Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) is a top priority for the organisation.
He explained that lime would be sprinkled along procession routes and rose water sprayed to aid participants and maintain a positive atmosphere. The sanitation operation will occur in three phases: pre-procession cleaning and waste lifting, during-procession staffing, and immediate post-procession restoration to achieve zero-waste status on the routes.
Safdar directed field officers and staff to monitor sanitation arrangements personally in their respective areas while a central control room would oversee operations and maintain contact with field teams. He appealed to citizens to cooperate with sanitation workers and dispose of waste in designated containers instead of littering roads and procession routes, contributing to the Clean Punjab mission.
