Speaker KP Assembly Meets Portuguese Ambassador Paulo Domingues

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Speaker, Babar Saleem Swati and Ambassador of Portugal to Pakistan, Paulo Domingues held a meeting at the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House in Islamabad.
During the meeting, both sides engaged in a detailed discussion on Pakistan-Portugal bilateral relations, mutual interests, and opportunities to enhance cooperation across various sectors.
Speaker Babar Saleem Swati stated that Pakistan and Portugal share friendly relations, which can be further strengthened through:
- Increased bilateral engagement
- Parliamentary diplomacy
- Collaboration in diverse fields
He emphasized the role of parliaments in fostering people-to-people connections and promoting mutual understanding. He also highlighted the potential and opportunities within Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and expressed hope for expanded bilateral cooperation with Portugal.
Ambassador Paulo Domingues expressed his interest in promoting cooperation and engagement with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in various sectors, emphasizing the importance of strengthening the friendly relations between Pakistan and Portugal.
Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, Syed Waqar Shah was also present during the meeting. Parliamentary relations, mutual cooperation, and avenues for strengthening people-to-people contacts were among the topics discussed.
At the end of the meeting, Speaker Babar Saleem Swati thanked the Portuguese Ambassador for his visit and expressed his best wishes for the continued strengthening of Pakistan-Portugal friendship.
