SPSC Makes Digital Candidate Verification Mandatory for Written Exams
The Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC) will replace manual attendance with electronic identity verification in upcoming descriptive examinations, following successful testing during the Revenue Qualifying Departmental Examination.
Initiated under the directives of SPSC Chairperson Rizwan Ahmed, this move aims to enhance transparency, security, and reliability in the examination process.
The system, successfully trialed during the RQE, will now be implemented in all upcoming descriptive written examinations. However, Computer-Based Tests (CBTs) remain exempt, as an electronic attendance system is already in place for these.
Under the new system, candidates' attendance will be recorded electronically at examination centres, with digital verification of their identities. This replaces traditional manual attendance and prevents impersonation, ensuring no unauthorized person appears in place of a registered candidate.
An SPSC spokesperson emphasized that the goal is to protect the rights of deserving candidates, ensure merit, transparency, and equal opportunities in recruitment. The commission will continue adopting technology-based reforms and modernizing its examination system to build public confidence.
