SSWMB Finalizes Arrangements For Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) Celebrations
Karachi, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - August 24, 2026) : Managing Director of the Sindh Solid Waste Management Board (SSWMB), Fawad Ghaffar Soomro, has instructed officials to ensure cleanliness, spray rose water and lime solution, and make other necessary arrangements along major thoroughfares, procession routes, and around mosques and Imambargahs for the Eid Milad-un-Nabi (Peace Be Upon Him) celebrations.
To facilitate the public, relief will be provided along procession routes through the establishment of camps, deployment of additional staff, mechanical sweeping, and guidance services, said a statement on Monday. On the day of 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal, water and Sherbet will also be made available at all camps for public convenience. Staff will remain present at these camps to guide citizens and address their complaints.
Acting on the MD’s directives, concerned officers visited various areas to inspect the arrangements and held meetings with scholars and organizers. Furthermore, the MD of SSWMB instructed relevant officials and company representatives to serve the public during this holy month and ensure no grounds for complaints arise. He further directed that sanitary staff be deployed for continuous cleaning during the processions, ensuring timely garbage collection even while the processions are underway. Cleaning staff will be specifically stationed along major procession routes like Nishtar Road to M.A. Jinnah Road, as well as all minor and major procession paths and around mosques.
