Stabbed Norwich Schoolgirl's Testimony: 'Everything Was Going Numb'

BBC News reports on a trial where a 16-year-old defendant, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is accused of attempted murder after stabbing a 15-year-old girl at Thorpe St Andrew School near Norwich.

The Incident

On March 11th, police were called to the school following reports of a girl being stabbed in the back. During her police interview, played in court, the victim described the attack:

He was standing there head to toe in black, no school uniform whatsoever. [...] It felt like I had been punched and then shortly afterwards felt a "sharp pain shoot through my back."

She further stated that upon realizing she'd been stabbed, she entered "panic mode" and experienced numbness and weakness. She also mentioned that her hands were covered in blood.

The Defendant's Notes

The court has already heard that the defendant had written notes expressing hatred towards women. One note, found pinned to his bedroom wall, read:

My barren world... If you're reading this, I am either dead or in custody. [...] I just have good judgement.

The Trial Continues

The trial at King's Lynn Crown Court is expected to last three weeks.
