Islamabad Police has enforced a strict new social media policy for all officers and personnel, approved by the Inspector General.
Key Restrictions:
- Police personnel cannot share judicial or confidential documents and images on social media.
- Expressing personal political or religious views online is prohibited.
- Police uniforms cannot be used for personal promotion or glamour.
- Videos or photos taken in uniform are strictly forbidden, especially in official vehicles, offices, or private locations.
- Media statements, public forum addresses, and article writing require prior permission.
- Highlighting police department activities must have prior approval from the Deputy Inspector General of Headquarters.
- All news and information regarding police activities should be issued through the Public Relations Branch.
Unit heads will monitor their subordinates' social media activities closely. Violations of the policy will result in strict departmental action.
