The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Multan Region arrested a police sub-inspector in a trap raid on September 3, 2026, for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000. The operation followed special directions from Director General ACE Punjab Sohail Zafar Chattha to take strict action against corrupt elements.
ACE Lodhran officials conducted the raid under judicial supervision and caught the sub-inspector, Amir Haider, while receiving the bribe for arranging a medical examination. Marked currency notes were seized as evidence and the officer was taken into custody.
According to ACE, the complainant had also paid Rs 15,000 earlier to another police official for registering a case, with further demands of Rs 20,000 for the medical exam. A case has been registered against the accused, and investigations are ongoing.
The Anti-Corruption Establishment Punjab reaffirmed its commitment to transparent governance and effective complaint handling while appealing to citizens to report corruption incidents.
