Food Department's Ensuring Transparent Supply
ABBOTTABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - August 25, 2026)
The food department is rigorously conducting inspections and monitoring to guarantee the transparent and timely supply of subsidized flour to consumers in Abbottabad at the officially fixed price of Rs2,520 per 20kg bag.
District Food Controller Abbottabad, Uzma Shah, informed that 70 designated dealers across the district are providing a 20-kilogram bag of subsidized flour. She attributed this availability to a daily quota of 65 metric tons of wheat, which is being processed into subsidized flour and distributed via these authorized dealers.
During a recent inspection, Uzma Shah visited several flour mills and scrutinized records related to:
- Government wheat receipt
- Flour production
- Distribution
She also inspected the stock and quality of subsidized flour at various dealers in the city. The food department officials conduct daily inspections of flour mills and designated dealers to maintain fairness and transparency, preventing any irregularities.
The district administration, under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Abbottabad Sarmad Saleem Akram, actively supports this monitoring process.
Citizens are encouraged to report any issues regarding the availability or sale of subsidized flour at 0992-9310326. Uzma Shah emphasized that the provincial government's initiative aims to provide citizens with quality flour at affordable prices, offering relief during prevailing economic conditions.
