More than 200 LPG tankers are expected to clear the Gabd-Rimdan border today, potentially bringing 3,000 to 4,000 metric tons of LPG to the market.

KARACHI (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Oct, 2026) The severe LPG crisis across the country is expected to ease significantly, with gas availability likely to improve after LPG tanker supplies resumed through the Pak-Iran border crossing and imported cargo ships arrived at Port Qasim. LPG prices in the market are expected to fall by Rs50 to Rs70 per kilogram.

According to media reports, a major development has emerged toward resolving the gas crisis as the Pak-Iran Gabd-Rimdan border has been formally reopened and the clearance of stranded LPG tankers is progressing rapidly.

More than 200 LPG tankers are expected to be cleared at the Gabd-Rimdan border today, potentially bringing an additional 3,000 to 4,000 metric tons of LPG to the domestic market.

Border officials and sources said the resumption of tanker arrivals from Iran by land would end gas shortages in remote areas as well as markets in Punjab and Balochistan. A large LPG consignment has also arrived in Pakistan by sea. The LPG-mix carrier PGC Yanius has berthed at the SSGC terminal, where the handling of 4,520 metric tons of LPG is under way.

In addition, another vessel carrying 3,083 metric tons of LPG has departed Port Qasim after successfully transferring its cargo. A total of two gas vessels arrived at the port yesterday.

Market sources and experts said the simultaneous resumption of vessel berthing at Port Qasim and tanker supplies from the Pak-Iran border would end the supply-chain crisis.

The increase in LPG supply across the country is expected to bridge the gap between demand and supply and ease the gas shortage faced by the public. As a result, consumers are likely to receive immediate relief of Rs50 to Rs70 per kilogram in LPG prices.
