Suspect Held During Encounter
UrduPoint (September 21, 2026, 03:40 PM) reported that:
The Crime Control Department (CCD) Multan police arrested a suspected dacoit in an injured condition during an encounter in Khushhal colony.
Police actions commenced with a checking of a CCD team when they attempted to stop three suspicious men riding a motorcycle. The suspects accelerated, leading to a crash into a road divider, resulting in one suspect's fall and injury.
The arrested suspect, identified as Muhammad Yousaf, son of Muhammad Saleem (resident of near Grain Market, Multan), was involved in a recent armed robbery in Khushhal colony, where three mobile phones and cash were stolen at gunpoint.
Using modern technology and human intelligence, police traced the robbery within four days. The CCD alleged that the suspect changed IMEI numbers of stolen phones before selling them, participating in numerous armed robberies targeting mobile phones, bags, and cash.
Special teams have been formed by police to arrest the two remaining absconding suspects, with further investigation ongoing.
