Three Arrested In Raid On Alleged Fake Tea Preparation Unit
Peshawar, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 10th Sep, 2026) The district administration Peshawar on Thursday arrested three people and seized a large quantity of chemicals, brown material, and suspected counterfeit tea leaves during raids on three houses in Sheikhabad. These raids were conducted allegedly on houses being used to prepare adulterated tea.
Acting on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Peshawar Captain (retd) Sanaullah Khan, Additional Assistant Commissioner (Faqirabad) Samia Jabeen led the operation after receiving information about the preparation of hazardous tea using brown material and chemicals.
The administration recovered several sacks containing chemicals, brown material, and suspected substandard tea leaves from the houses. The three individuals present at the time were arrested, and all recovered material was secured.
Initial investigations revealed that various chemicals and materials were allegedly being used to produce counterfeit and substandard tea. Further legal proceedings have been initiated against those involved.
Deputy Commissioner Sanaullah Khan emphasized that ensuring the availability of safe, quality, and hygienic food items is a top priority for the administration. He promised zero tolerance for negligence or adulteration affecting public health, directing officials to continue regular inspections throughout the city and take stringent action against offenders.
The district administration also appealed to citizens to report the preparation or sale of suspected or hazardous food items to the authorities, facilitating timely action and safeguarding public health.
