According to a traffic police spokesperson on Tuesday, around 400 inspectors and more than 1,400 wardens and patrolling officers would be deployed at various locations to ensure smooth traffic flow and facilitate citizens during the processions.

Five major processions would be taken out in the city. The largest procession would originate from Noori Building near the Railway Station and proceed towards Data Darbar. Another procession coming from Delhi Gate would also culminate at Data Darbar.

Similarly, processions originating from:

  • Akhri Masjid in Islampura
  • Shailer Chowk, Baghbanpura

would proceed towards Data Darbar, while the procession emerging from Data Darbar would conclude at Masjid Rahmat-ul-Alameen near Battery Stop.

Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi stated that special diversion arrangements had been made to ensure uninterrupted movement of traffic during the processions.

Traffic coming from:

  • The Railway Station towards Landa would be diverted towards Railway Road,
  • Traffic approaching from the Outer Circular Road would be diverted towards Ek Moriya and Azadi Flyover,
  • Traffic coming from Multan Road would be diverted from Kacheri Chowk towards Outfall Road.

The CTO assured that no road would be completely closed for traffic and alternative routes would be provided wherever necessary to minimise inconvenience to motorists.
