Transparency to be ensured in Dhee Rani program: minister
LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd Sep, 2026) Provincial Minister for Social Welfare Sohail Shaukat Butt directed that transparency should be ensured in all stages of the Dhee Rani program, including the organization of marriages. He also instructed to further improve all aspects of the program and expedite ongoing measures.
Meeting on mass marriages under Dhee Rani program
A meeting was held regarding mass marriages of deserving girls under the Dhee Rani program, chaired by Provincial Minister for Social Welfare Sohail Shaukat Butt. The meeting was attended by:
- Secretary Social Welfare, Saira Umar
- DG, Dr. Shahenshah Faisal Azeem
- Director and all divisional directors.
Briefing on Dhee Rani program
During the meeting, Secretary Social Welfare Saira Umar provided a detailed briefing on the Dhee Rani program. The Director Planning informed about the program's background, progress to date, and future action plan.
- The Dhi Rani program was launched after cabinet approval.
- During the current financial year, 5,000 deserving girls will be mass married under the Dhi Rani program, with marriages starting from October.
Sohail Shaukat Butt emphasized expediting all steps related to the Dhi Rani program to complete it as soon as possible.
