Trump Rejects Saudi Crown Prince’s Request to Strike Yemen

According to Axios, citing American officials, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman made two phone calls to President Donald Trump on Thursday, requesting attacks against the Houthis. However, Trump rejected the request.
US officials stated that the administration currently has no plans for direct military action against the Houthis. The report noted that Admiral Brad Cooper, commander of the US Central Command (CENTCOM), visited Saudi Arabia on Thursday.
In recent weeks, US military and civilian officials had informed their Saudi counterparts that, as instructed by Trump, the United States would focus on Iran and protecting shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, while avoiding another military front.
