Two Afghan Suspects Die in Alleged Accomplices' Attack During Islamabad Police Raid

Two Afghan suspects in the custody of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police lost their lives after allegedly being shot by their own accomplices during an attack on a police team near Rawal Town, while four armed attackers escaped under the cover of darkness.

An ICT Police official stated that the suspects, identified as Abdullah and Malhe Khan, were being transported to a scrapyard near Rawal Town, within the limits of Shehzad Town Police Station, to apprehend their accomplices and collect evidence based on information gathered during interrogation.

According to the official, four armed accomplices hiding in a nearby wooded area initiated indiscriminate fire on the ICT Police team, attempting to free the suspects from custody. The suspects, Abdullah and Malhe Khan, sustained bullet wounds in the firing allegedly carried out by their own accomplices. Fortunately, the police personnel remained unharmed due to bulletproof jackets and other safety measures.

The injured suspects were promptly transferred to a hospital for medical treatment, where they later succumbed to their injuries. The official revealed that both suspects were Afghan nationals and had been arrested in a case registered at Secretariat Police Station involving mobile phone snatching from a woman, attempted rape, and causing injuries to her. They were on physical remand at the time of the incident.

The four armed accomplices managed to escape into the darkness, while ICT Police launched comprehensive search operations to locate and apprehend them.
