Two-day Follow-up Polio Drive Ordered in Multan
Multan, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Sep, 2026) Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dr Faisal Saleem has directed the district authorities to conduct a two-day follow-up polio vaccination drive after completion of the three-day special national campaign in the district on Wednesday.
The anti-polio activities continued across the district on the third and final day of the campaign, with a target of administering polio drops to around 300,000 children on the concluding day, while 777,710 children are being covered during the campaign.
On the directions of the Deputy Commissioner, district officers and assistant commissioners remained present in the field to monitor vaccination activities and ensure coverage of all eligible children.
A total of 4,399 polio teams are participating in the campaign, including 4,021 mobile, 230 fixed and 148 transit teams. Besides, 833 area in-charges and 135 Union Council Medical Officers are performing their duties to supervise and facilitate the vaccination process.*
Dr Faisal Saleem said a comprehensive security plan had also been put in place for the protection of polio teams during the campaign. He directed all relevant departments to ensure effective monitoring and reach every child who might have been missed during the three-day drive.
