Two Drug-Peddlers Convicted
MULTAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th Sep, 2026) Two individuals involved in drug trafficking were convicted and sentenced to significant terms.
In a statement, a spokesperson for Multan Police revealed that an Additional and Sessions Judge imposed a 20-year prison sentence and a fine of Rs 800,000 on convict Dilshad. This followed the completion of his trial and the establishment of his guilt in a narcotics case registered at Chehlik Police Station in 2024. The recovery of 10,060 grams of hashish from his possession was a crucial piece of evidence.
In a separate case, Muhammad Shehzad was sentenced to seven years' imprisonment and a fine of Rs 500,000. He was arrested earlier this year after Sub-Inspector Muhammad Akram and his team seized 1,180 grams of ice from his possession.
The Multan Police spokesperson emphasized the thorough investigation of both cases, highlighting the solid evidence presented in court, which led to the convictions. These sentences, according to the spokesperson, underscore the department's commitment to justice and the effective prosecution of narcotics-related crimes.
