Two E-bus Routes Launched in Gujranwala; Cardiology Institute Approved

Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Friday launched two electric bus routes in Gujranwala and inspected the ongoing Gujranwala Mass Transit Corridor Project, directing authorities to complete the scheme by March.

Electric Bus Routes: Two e-bus routes will initially operate from Chan da Qila to Lohianwala and from Khiali to Jinnah/Nandipur. A total of 74 electric buses will eventually serve Gujranwala once infrastructure is complete.

Project Timeline: The Chief Minister emphasized the need for swift progress, acknowledging the inconvenience caused by prolonged construction.

Cardiology Institute: During her visit, Sharif also inspected the proposed site for the Maryam Nawaz Institute of Cardiology in Gujranwala and directed officials to begin construction immediately.
Institute Details:
The 268-bed cardiac institute will span 50 kanals and feature:
- Emergency department
- Coronary care unit
- Intensive care unit
- Modern operation theatres
- Angiography catheterisation laboratories
- CT scan, ultrasound and gamma camera facilities
- 3-Tesla MRI and ultra-fast CT scanner
- Two single-plane and one biplane angiography machines
- Four modular operation theatres
- Four heart-lung machines
