Two Members Of Alleged Police Tout Mafia Held For Extortion
Rawalpindi, September 01, 2026 (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News) – Police have arrested two men accused of posing as police touts and extorting money from citizens in the R.A. Bazaar area, as part of a crackdown ordered by City Police Officer (CPO) Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera against corruption and the alleged tout mafia.
According to police, the suspects were identified as Ameer Badshah (also known as Hero) and Hafeez Khan (also known as Mama). Money allegedly collected from citizens as extortion was also recovered from their possession.
Police stated that complaints had been received against the two suspects, alleging that they were involved in unlawful activities in the area while claiming to have the backing of former R.A. Bazaar SHO Sajjad Khan.
This development follows the suspension and placement on the department’s closed line of the former SHO of R.A. Bazaar, with departmental proceedings against the officer currently underway.
A case has been registered against both arrested suspects at R.A. Bazaar Police Station, and further investigation is in progress.
CPO Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera emphasized that Rawalpindi Police have adopted a zero-tolerance policy against corruption. He urged citizens to report anyone involved in corrupt practices, assuring that strict action would be taken against those found guilty.
