Two Petrol Pumps Sealed in Astore for Creating Artificial Shortage of Petroleum Products

ASTORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Aug, 2026) On the directive of Assistant Commissioner Astore Muhammad Shoaib, the district administration has sealed two petrol pumps for failing to maintain the prescribed stock of petroleum products and creating an artificial shortage, besides imposing fines on their owners.
According to details, Magistrate Imdad Ali conducted inspections of various petrol pumps in Astore in compliance with the administrative directives. During the inspection, it was found that Yechlito Petrol Pump did not have the prescribed stock of petrol and diesel, while Patipura Petrol Pump had also failed to maintain the required stock of diesel.
The administration stated that failure to maintain the prescribed quantity of petroleum products amounted to creating an artificial shortage, causing inconvenience to consumers. Taking serious notice of the violation, Magistrate Imdad Ali sealed both petrol pumps on the spot and imposed fines on the respective owners in accordance with the rules.
The administration directed all petrol pump owners to strictly maintain the prescribed stocks of petrol and diesel in accordance with government regulations and ensure uninterrupted supply of petroleum products to the public. They were also warned against creating any artificial shortage or causing unnecessary inconvenience to consumers.
Assistant Commissioner Astore Muhammad Shoaib said that no negligence would be tolerated in ensuring the availability of essential commodities to the public. He directed the concerned officials to make inspections and monitoring of petrol pumps more effective to ensure compliance with prescribed stock levels, official prices, and other government regulations.
The administration warned that strict action would be taken in accordance with the law against any attempt to create an artificial shortage, hoard petroleum products, or otherwise act against the public interest.
