Two Prisoners Escape Zhob Jail on Fake Court Release Orders

The Zhob jail superintendent and two other officials have also been suspended.
QUETTA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Sep, 2026) Two prisoners escaped from Zhob Central Jail using fake court release orders. Jail officials said that, after an investigation was completed, a case was registered against both prisoners and an unidentified person, while three officials, including the Zhob jail superintendent, were also suspended.
According to Prisons Department officials, convicts Abdul Salam and Amanullah were serving 25-year sentences each at Zhob Jail in drug cases. They were released on May 30 on the basis of fake court orders.
Jail officials said the fake release orders were handed over by an unidentified person to an officer deployed at the prison gate in the evening. The orders were acted upon due to negligence. A case has been registered at the City Police Station Zhob against the two illegally released convicts and their unidentified facilitators. Officials said the case had been handed over to the Crime Branch, and efforts had begun to recapture the absconding convicts.
