Two Youths Drown in River Jhelum
GUJRAT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - September 4, 2026) Two youths drowned while bathing in the River Jhelum near Bhrowt village in Sara-i-Alamgir, here on Friday.
According to Rescue 1122, teams reached the spot and launched a search operation. Witnesses reported that the two youths, engaged in extracting sand from the river, drowned after entering deep water while bathing.
The deceased have been identified as:
- Hazrat Ali, 18, son of Shaheen Gul
- Ramzan Khan, 17, son of Abdul Sattar, both residents of Ghakhar Dinga.
Rescue teams conducted a three-and-a-half-hour search operation using line-search and boat-throttling techniques and recovered the bodies. The bodies were handed over to their families and shifted to their native village, Rescue 1122 stated.
