US Reaches Deal For Permanent Security Control Of Greenland, Trump Announces
The United States has permanently gained security authority over Greenland, while rival countries will not be allowed to establish bases there; Washington will build a major military base in Greenland, as announced by President Donald Trump.
According to international media, Trump issued a statement expressing satisfaction with the historic agreement, stating that it addresses all US security concerns regarding Greenland. He highlighted that this arrangement imposes no financial burden on the United States.
The deal guarantees the United States permanent and final authority over security matters in Greenland. Henceforth, no hostile country will be permitted to establish a military base or make sensitive investments in Greenland without US written permission.
Trump characterized the agreement as a century-long achievement, stating that previous presidents had been unable to secure such a deal. He described it as an "open-ended" agreement with no expiry date, ensuring the strategic importance of Greenland for US defense.
Following the agreement, the United States will commence construction of a large military base and expand its presence in strategic areas of Greenland, while collaborating with local communities on development projects. Trump emphasized that the US will protect this "grand and strategic region," fulfilling a significant goal in US defense history.
