US Stocks Decline As Treasury Yields Rise

NEW YORK, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM – 21st Aug, 2026) The three major US stock indices closed lower on Thursday as rising Treasury yields weakened risk appetite.
Market Performance:
- S&P 500: Fell 65.29 points (0.85%) to 7,642.69
- Nasdaq Composite: Dropped 263.28 points (1%) to 26,067.81
- Dow Jones Industrial Average: Declined 681.62 points (1.27%) to 52,781.43
Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, Pinterest, and Whatsapp related topics also saw a downturn.
