VC FUUAST Expresses Delight Over Large Number Of Students Attending Established Russian Language Classes
ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Sep, 2026) Vice Chancellor (VC) of the Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology (FUUAST) Islamabad, Prof. Dr Zabta Khan Shinwari, visited a Russian language class at the university and expressed happiness over the large number of students attending the course.
Speaking to students in the classroom, Dr Zabta Khan Shinwari stated that one of FUUAST's primary objectives is to broaden the worldview of the younger generation. He highlighted the richness of Russian culture and noted that learning the Russian language offers numerous benefits for students.
"Learning an important language of a major country like Russia is timely and presents a great opportunity for our students," he emphasized.
The Vice Chancellor announced that Russian language would be introduced as a regular course from the upcoming semester. He expressed gratitude to the Russian government, Ural State Pedagogical University, and Russian language instructor Dr. Roman Porozov for their collaboration.
Earlier, Russian Professor Dr. Roman Porozov met with Vice Chancellor Dr. Zabta Khan Shinwari at his office, accompanied by Department Heads Dr Faisal Javaid and Dr Sikander Zarren.
Dr. Roman characterized the academic atmosphere at FUUAST as encouraging and inspiring.
Dr Zabta Khan Shinwari emphasized the university's expanding international academic partnerships and the new avenues being opened for students. He mentioned ongoing research programs with Russian institutions and noted that FUUAST students also have opportunities to study in Russia.
He highlighted upcoming events, including a major research conference on artificial intelligence for environmental protection in Karachi in October and a Green Journalism Conference organized by the Mass Communication Department Islamabad Campus in June, which received positive reviews.
Students from various departments thanked Vice Chancellor Dr Zabta Khan Shinwari and ORIC Deputy Director Dr Faisal Javaid for introducing the Russian language course at the university.
