VC UoS Meets Chairman HEC to Discuss Academic Quality, Research Improvement
UrduPoint (4th Oct, 2026) - SARGODHA (APP) - Vice Chancellor University of Sargodha, Prof. Dr. Tasawar Hayat, met with Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan's Chairman, Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmad Akhtar, at his office on Sunday to discuss ways to:
- Improve academic quality
- Strengthen research
- Enhance technology usage
- Foster institutional collaboration
According to a spokesperson, Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmad Akhtar welcomed the Vice Chancellor and congratulated him on his new appointment.
During the meeting, Prof. Dr. Tasawar Hayat outlined the university’s strategic priorities, emphasizing the need to align academic development with measurable improvements in:
- Teaching
- Research
- Student learning outcomes
He stressed that academic programs should remain responsive to market demands, while faculty development and research capacity needed strengthening through focused support and academic partnerships.
The Vice Chancellor also highlighted the importance of using digital technologies to simplify processes, increase transparency, and boost institutional efficiency.
Both parties discussed strengthening links between the University of Sargodha, HEC, and other higher education institutions through joint research, faculty development, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
