MIRPURKHAS, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Sep, 2026) - The Hari Welfare Association organized a “Voice Festival” in Mirpurkhas to promote social tolerance, brotherhood, and peace. A large number of villagers, citizens, representatives from various government departments, youth, and children attended the event.

Speaking on the occasion, Addi. Commissioner Afshan Shaikh stated that the Voice Festival was an excellent initiative, providing a platform for rural women, children, peasants, laborers, government officials, and social activists to come together and discuss community issues. She highlighted how such events bridge the communication gap between government departments and rural communities, assuring continued accessibility of services.

Executive Director of the Hari Welfare Association Akram Ali Khaskheli drew attention to the injustices faced by peasants and peasant women in Sindh. He emphasized the need to raise awareness about child marriage and its detrimental effects on young lives, noting that over seven million children in Sindh were out of school, while approximately 1.6 million were engaged in child labor.

He also addressed growing intolerance and religious extremism, arguing that festivals and activities promoting dialogue and awareness could foster positive thinking and social harmony in the face of such issues.

CARE Pakistan Manager Naeemuddin echoed these sentiments, stating that the Voice Festival aimed to strengthen tolerance, brotherhood, and religious harmony in society. He reminded participants that everyone should be treated with respect and dignity and that Pakistan is a land of peace.
