GWADAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Aug, 2026) Member of Provincial Assembly Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman Baloch has inaugurated a new water supply project connecting several villages along the Shadi Kor–Gwadar main transmission line, ensuring long-awaited access to clean drinking water for residents of remote areas.

Under the scheme, villages including Shtangi, Kunda Sol, and Chakoli have now been linked to the Shadi Kor transmission line, resolving a decades-old problem of water scarcity. The inauguration ceremony was attended by:

  • Chief Engineer GDA Haji Syed Muhammad
  • Project Director Water Mir Jan Baloch
  • Assistant Engineer Kambar Kalmati
  • Engineer Kamran
  • PA to MPA Waseem Samad
  • Local elders
  • A large number of residents from surrounding villages.

Mir Jan Baloch informed that the Gwadar Development Authority had already completed the pipeline installation, and with this step, multiple new villages have been formally connected to the main transmission line. He noted that dozens of villages in Kappar, Nalint, and adjoining areas are already receiving water through the system, and more villages will be added in phases to expand coverage.

The completion of this project will not only provide residents of far-flung areas with direct access to drinking water but also relieve them from the hardship of traveling long distances or relying on alternative sources. Officials described the initiative as a significant milestone in addressing Gwadar’s rural water crisis and improving basic facilities in the region.
