National Dialogue Committee leader Fawad Chaudhry raised questions regarding the expense of Maryam Nawaz's private trip to London on a government aircraft, estimated at Rs65 million.
Speaking at a press conference in Islamabad with Mahmood Moulvi, Fawad Chaudhry highlighted the surge in fuel prices, increasing by Rs119 since February 26. He noted the government's financial contributions:
- Rs1.1 trillion collected for electricity
- Rs1.8 trillion paid in capacity payments
- Rs600 billion in taxes, including capacity payments and other expenses
Chaudhry expressed concern over government funds being allocated for aircraft, noting separate aircraft for the Punjab Chief Minister and senior ministers. He claimed that Maryam Nawaz's trip to London cost Rs65 million and was paid for by her personally, contrary to Azma Bukhari's assertion.
He demanded proof of payment from Azma Bukhari, which she refused to provide. Chaudhry also mentioned that the president and interior minister also travel on government aircraft.
